How we help the community
Community Outreach
A Message from Our Founder & President, Michael Taylor
At MGWC Foundation Inc., our mission has always been clear: to break the cycle of poverty and restore hope across Virginia and Washington, D.C. We know that far too many families in our area are just one unexpected crisis away from homelessness, and our youth often lack the resources they need to succeed.
We bridge that gap by stepping in where help is needed most, building strong community connections and providing measurable pathways to success. Here are a few key ways we uplift our neighbors every day:
Holiday Joy & Youth Events: Every child deserves to experience the magic of the holidays. Through our annual Toy & Coat Drives and community events, like our family skate and date night, we ensure local kids feel celebrated and cared for.
Essential Needs & Food Support: From serving hot meals to delivering holiday food baskets, we work directly in the community to ensure families have their basic needs met during tough times.
Empowering Youth & Education: We provide critical educational resources to help students thrive in school. We also stand up for marginalized youth and provide tailored support for children with disabilities, making sure no child is left behind.
Comprehensive Homelessness Support: We offer direct, compassionate assistance to individuals experiencing homelessness, providing real pathways toward stability and independent success.
Every year, thanks to the generosity of our community, we make a life-changing impact. But our work isn't done, we are continually expanding our reach to support even more families in need.
If you would like to partner with us, get involved, or learn more about how we’re strengthening our community, please reach out to me directly at 540-370-2896. Together, we can build a brighter future for our youth.
